Charles-Ryan Barber is a professional photographer and photojournalist currently based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Charles-Ryan fell in love with exploration and photography while living in Morocco in 2004. He later discovered his passion for photojournalism while documenting the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Charles-Ryan then went on to receive his bachelor’s degree in Photojournalism from the University of Georgia.
While in school, he also worked as a freelance photographer for various clients and publications, including Creative Loafing, Paste Magazine, Flagpole Magazine, Groupon, River Oak Photography, and Eikon Productions.
In 2011 he relocated-- via a nearly insane Winter cross-country epic solo motorcycle adventure, no less-- to the gorgeous coastal West Side area of Los Angeles, where he solidified his career as an artist and freelance photographer, taking time to travel and adventure whenever possible.
Some of his LA clients include Wanderlust, Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles, Tim Barber Ltd., Deus Ex Machina Motorcycles, Everybody Dance!, Kabateck Brown Kellner LLP, and Mad Decent Productions.
Charles-Ryan has a unique perspective, a keen eye for detail, and a fascination with seeking a perfect balance between truthful visual storytelling and great art photography.
In addition to photography, Charles-Ryan has a lifelong passion for acrobatics-- in his spare time he is a Trapeze and Trampoline instructor and while in Los Angeles regularly performed on the Flying Rings at the Original Muscle Beach.
